Welcome to the autumn newsletter from EFIM. This month, we have exciting news of several forthcoming EFIM events that will bring our community closer together and raise awareness of EFIM activities.
There’s our must-attend, high level Annual Congress, ECIM 2023 in March 15 – 18, organised in collaboration with the 12th International Conference of Internal Medicine in Athens. Also in November we are inviting you to submit your abstract so you still have an opportunity to present your work at the congress. The deadline to submit the abstracts has been extended until 27 November.
ECIM 2023 will focus on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and compassionate care of adults across the spectrum from health to complex illness following the main theme “Internal Medicine – A Bridge Between Health and Disease”.
And in December we will host the 7th EFIM Day virtually giving the opportunities to each EFIM member society to discuss their projects, activities, and suggestions for EFIM.
We will primarily focus on the progress of the EFIM Academy and discuss with Prof. Rijk Gans from EBIM the project: European Exam of Internal Medicine. Don’t forget to register online via our Zoom link!
There’s plenty being done in the past months by the EFIM Executive Committee, Secretariat, WGs, YI to raise awareness of EFIM activities and events including collaboration with several other medical societies.
The 17th Clinical Research Seminar took place in Paris from 24 – 26 of October welcoming 14 trainees from 11 EFIM national societies.
EFIM Secretariat is in process of recruting new hospital centres to relaunch the Exchange programme as of January 2023, while our Fellowship is slowly growing the nework of leading internal medicine phyisicians in Europe, completing 55 successful applications.
Finally, don’t forget to send the applications to the ESIM Winter 2023 in Sweden, taking place from 12 – 18 February 2023. ESIM Winter 2023 will offer a diverse and exciting programme of lectures, workshops and activities for participants.
